You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hello Mason 7512, why do you categorise the image "file:Paula Gaviria.png" as ‘Unidentified politician of Colombia’, there is only one person shown and their name is known! Greetings from Fritzober (talk) 07:28, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I understand your confusion, but from what I understand "Unidentified" categories are meant for subjects both literally unknown and those which are notable & known but do not have a specific category yet. I was basing this off the text at the top of the category reading "Politicians are people of public interest and it can be assumed that many pictures or other content about them exists. This is why they should always be categorized with their names." and the template at the below that reading "This category contains unidentified, unclassified, unknown or mislabelled politicians or government officials from Colombia. We would value your expertise to identify these media and find their rightful places in the appropriate category structure. The images should probably be placed in subcategories of Category:Politicians of Colombia by name. Thank you very much.".

I am currently working on creating categories for all Colombian politicians with media in commons and organizing them. This category makes it very easy to go through and sort them. I had assumed that this was the purpose of such categories and in line with guidelines. Please let me know if I am mistaken.

Just in case, that text on the top of that category was the personal opinion of one user, not supported by others. See Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2023/07#Unidentified_politicians:_What_is_"unidentified"?. "Unidentified" categories are for actually unidentified people (no name, partial name, etc.). Also, categorising by name, while often useful, is not absolutely necessary. (e.g. Commons:Categories_for_discussion/2016/12/Category:To_be_categorised_by_name) Hwem (talk) 08:16, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Landscapes

Hi Mason7512, recently you've been adding lots of photographs to Category:Landscapes. Did you read the category description which says: "A landscape [...] in this category is a combination of different landforms forming a new picture which cannot be categorized as one of the subcategories of Category:Landforms. The picture should cover at least a few square kilometers to be called a landscape." Many of the pictures you added don't fit this description. Also, in many cases the title or description contains clues towards the location, and sometimes the title even is the name of the main category of a location. Category:Landscapes tends to be overcrowded, and any picture there should be placed more specifically. I'm not sure if it's an improvement if uncategorized files are falsely moved to Category:Landscapes. Regards, Sitacuisses (talk) 02:21, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
